2017 Central Park Plunge

Found in: News

If you live in Perth, it’s likely you’ve seen the Central Park Building on St Georges Terrace. It’s the tallest building in our city at 220m, which seems larger than life when you’re standing at the bottom looking up.

But what about from the top, looking down?

On Sunday the 9th of September, participants like burns-patient Val Sloss experienced just that – looked down from the top and still abseiled 220m down the building, all in support of the Fiona Wood Foundation.

Now in its third year, presented by Zenith Events, this terrific multi-charity event raised over $573,000 for charities like ours, Ronald McDonald House Perth, Cahoots and Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia.

We had a stellar team this year raising over $77,000 for the Foundation which has contributed to our IBM Watson for Health project. Thank you to all the donors who supported our participants in this hair-raising challenge.

Our thanks to the amazing individuals and terrific teams who participated this year – collectively you have made this event such a fantastic event on our calendar. You faced your fears, rose to the fundraising challenge and importantly, you have helped current and future burns patients on their road to recovery.

Our events come together with the support of awesome volunteers and businesses like IGA Taylor Road and The Newport Hotel who help make great events fantastic! Thank you!
