Chevron Australia and Fiona Wood Foundation Partnership

Chevron Australia has supported Fiona Wood Foundation since 2013. This partnership has allowed us to improve outcomes for burns patients across Western Australia and beyond through our cutting-edge research and community education programs.

Our latest collaboration with Chevron has allowed us to develop The Ben and Bella Superheroes Burn Prevention Education Program, which raises awareness of burn injury, prevention and correct first aid treatments. The program consists of three stand-alone storybooks that centre around the three major causes of burn injury.

Chevron's ongoing commitment to promoting healthier communities has allowed us to develop teacher guides for each stand-alone book that aligns with the Early Years Framework (Kindy) and the West Australian P-2 curriculum. The guides include resources, discussion points and activities to improve children's knowledge and understanding of burn injury, prevention, and burn first aid.

Our aim is to see this education program delivered across all Western Australian schools, Early Childhood Services and included in home libraries. Early education provides the opportunities to raise awareness and allow children to develop skills they will have for life.

The storybooks and teacher guides support early burn prevention education for children, their parents, and extended families. The series is now available to purchase via our website shop.

We want to send our heartfelt thanks to Chevron Australia and their team for their ongoing support of the Foundation. Your investment in our children's education will improve the quality of life for generations to come.
