Hi friends, it's Di!

Last week Fiona received the prestigious Officer of the Order of Australia (AO), in recognition of her distinguished service to plastic and reconstructive surgery, to medical research, and as a clinician-scientist and mentor.

For me personally, I am proud to know Fiona and be part of her team. Fiona’s amazing energy, determination, and commitment to research to drive positive change and excellence in clinical care for burn patients is outstanding.

I feel so fortunate to be in this role that I love. This is my tenth year with the Fiona Wood Foundation, and I remain committed to our vision of scarless healing in mind and body. I know our work will improve the lives of burn patients and their families, who are at the heart of everything we do.

When Fiona received this honour, I believed that it is so well deserved and a testament to her continued dedication and hard work. And now when I reflect on how her work and achievements have remained so visible since her Member of Australia award in 2003, I absolutely know that is because of all of you in the community who have valued, trusted, and supported her and the Foundation over all these decades.

So, I thank you all, who have so generously supported our work and who care and believe in us in order that Fiona and our team can continue the amazing work they do to improve the lives of our patients.

We are humbled by your support, and we see this honour for Fiona as another reminder of our responsibility to ensure that we continue to invest in research and our researchers and to continue to expand the body of knowledge in burns research so that our legacy is felt for generations to come.

Yours, Di Lim
